#8 Create a heart-using two previous challenges

Let's start off with the fact...I misread this.....and made my tangle. Ha.  I seemed to think it said to make "two" hearts...Not create "a" heart.   

Then my mind said....using previous challenges.  Okay, got that part correct, at least.

I went for "simple", "lxorus", "smile" and two hearts.  Simple little hearts.....cause this is a challenge presented when the Diva's wee baby boy (Artoo, is his nickname) was ill and in the hospital, back in 2010.  My hearts are on the flower to give Artoo a smile from my family to his.

Challenge 7 - Breathe

Okay, so the Diva Challenge was: Relax, Breath, Smile

How the heck do I tangle that??  Ha!  Soooooo....nothing came to mind......which is what was supposed to happen, I imagine.  I put pen to the tile......and this is what I came up with. 

Relax ~ the peace sign  (I am an old hippy...hehehe)
Breath ~ the big daisy.  I love Shasta Dasies.....they don't smell good like roses, I guess....but they appeal to me.
Smile ~ people who know me....know I put smile faces on everything.  And.....here they are in the corners of my tile.  : )

Challenge #6 "Ixorus"

The Diva gave the challenge to learn this zentangle design named "Ixorus".  Rick and Maria sent out the Zentangle® Newsletter back in 2011 with this design.   Here is my first attempt.  I used it for the tree, as you can see.   But I also thought it would work as the grass.  Gave it a try and it looks okay to me.

Challenge #5 Orbs

Orbs....not something I am all that good at making look...round.  Not yet, anyway.  I am sure with practice, I will get the nack of it. 

Mr Awesome made the suggestion of doing bubbles.  Ah yes!  I love blowing bubbles.  No matter how old I am....I can amuse myself for quite some time blowing bubbles and watching them travel off to unknown territory.

#3 Eyes Wide Shut

Had to draw the string with my eyes closed.  Didn't really like my string....but, well....go with it and see what happens.  The end result was kind of cool.  I am happy with it.

I used two markers....I do my best not to use pencil.  I don't want to be tempted to erase.   Anyway...my string is a lower case letter "g" for my last name.   This was a fun one to do.  I put the footlights tangle on the side...cause...well....everyone should have their name in lights at least once in life.  hehehe
 

#1 Simplicity

I have started "The Diva's" Challenges.  This is #1....Simplicity
I chose to do it as square checkered patterns.  Mainly cause I like all the options for doing squares.  :)

Sea turtle.  I kind of like it.  I have ideas for more turtles.  We shall see if I can get them on paper.

A Whale of a Tangle

I wanted to figure out a tangle that would be mostly black for the black part of the orca.  Nothing seemed quite right to me.  So, his body is kind of plain, I guess.  You can tell what he is, so I am happy.

There was a challenge posted (I don't remember where)....you were to leave white space on your tangles.  I think this is about as close to white space as you will ever get from me.  : )  It there is white...I find that I *have* to fill it up.  Ha!

First "big" practice page

Went shopping over the weekend.  Located some heavy paper, graph paper, micron pens, jelly pens, index cards and a binder to hold everything.

Now I am ready to Zen Tangle. : )

This is my official first full size page.  I did it by just playing around to make designs, and also using the tutorials to learn fancy designs.

It was fun.  I want to make note tho.....it is really hard for me to do these......I like things to be straight and even.  Something you do NOT get with tangle art.  hahaha

02-16 Another Valentine Challenge

Another one for challenge 154.   I got the idea for this one by accident.  I was looking around on google and located places where lovers go and place a lock on a fence.  There are tons and tons of locks on some of the fences.  I saw one with a heart on it....and viola!  I came up with this idea.

Doing a little research.  The official size is 3.5 x 3.5.  I found a challenge for the week on one group.  To do something Valentine related.  My idea was to get as many hearts on in different ways as I could.  It was a neat challenge.
